Areas of Expertise

Braces

Some say wearing braces is a rite of passage for our teenagers, others say a smile is a curve that sets everything right.

With modern advances in orthodontics, it’s a blessing to know there are many different types of braces to choose from and some might suit one’s condition and lifestyle more than others, such as clear aligners or ceramic brackets for working adults who are mindful of metals in the mouth.

One of the most common time for putting on braces would be 13years of age due to the “after PSLE” preference, however it might be good to note that for special situations such as more severe discrepancies, one might benefit tremendously from early treatment which can start as early as 8-12years of age in hope to catch the growth spurt to avoid need for drastic surgeries in future.

Do ask your regular dentist if there’s any concern with yours or your child’s teeth alignment.

Implants

An average individual would have lost about 12 teeth to gum disease, decay, injury by the age of 50. Losing teeth can affect your smile and change your bite. Thanks to advances in prosthetic dentistry, there’s no reason to allow lost teeth to affect your health. Find out more from your dentist about dental implants and other restorative options.

Dental implant and bridges are two common options to replace missing teeth. Implants are strong long lasting artificial teeth placed into the bone just like how our teeth were anchored before it was lost. Dental bridges are prosthesis that join an artificial tooth to the adjacent natural teeth.

The suitability of each treatment have to be discussed further with one’s dentist based on one’s medical wellbeing, longevity expectations, and restoration timeline.

Children's Dentistry

A child's smile is priceless. We seek to help parents maintain this precious smile.

Discussion and feedback: understand disease progression and treatment protocols. Identify risk factors and etiology.

Treatment: It takes a team to help your child gain confidence and undergo successful dental treatment.

Education: prevention is the key to managing disease. Maintenance schedule and hygiene education is key to stable oral health.
